All dressed up!

Years One and Two recently enjoyed a fantastic trip to the Heritage Centre in Macclesfield.  There was great hilarity as the children dressed up in waistcoats or white pinafores and mop caps.  Laughter quickly turned to silence as we stood outside the Victorian schoolroom, anticipating the arrival of Ma’am.  As the lesson proceeded, Ma’am kept a strict eye on both staff and pupils as we attempted to draw and write neatly on slates.  Later we had the opportunity to compare the lifestyles, clothes, toys and homes of rich and poor children living over 150 years ago.  As ever, our pupils behaved impeccably, and returned to school unusually thankful for the friendly teachers that they find in their classrooms!
