Co-Curricular

The school day begins at 8:30am and ends at 4.00pm, wraparound care is available from 7:30am until 6:00pm free of charge.

We also offer a varied range of co-curricular activities for all pupils from Reception through to Year 11 during lunchtime and after-school.

At Beech Hall School we offer a rich Co-curricular programme that allows pupils to develop their talents and skills, and form strong friendships outside the classroom, often finding a new interest that they will continue for many years. Co-curricular is an essential part of the pupils’ education and runs alongside our curriculum increasing the learning opportunities for all pupils who wish to participate.

We offer specific programmes for each section – junior, lower senior and upper senior with a range of activities from sport, academic, creative and holistic based activities, making full use of the School’s facilities. All swimming pool activities are very popular in the summer term. In Year 9 & 10 pupils can take part in the Duke of Edinburgh Award and in Year 11 we offer ‘additional support lessons’ in preparation for their GCSE examinations. There are many opportunities for pupils to become involved at lunchtime and after school and we encourage all pupils to take part in at least one Co-curricular activity. Many pupils attend two or more.

These experiences beyond the classroom allow pupils to develop valuable transferable skills such as communication, leadership, teamwork and resilience through the many strands of the Co-curricular programme preparing you for life after school. At Beech Hall we believe Co-curricular is about much more – ultimately the key is to have ‘fun’ with your friends, find the things you are passionate about to enable you to become a well-rounded individual (or the best version of you).

The School Values Kindness, Respect, Integrity and Ambition are at the centre of our Co-curricular aims.

“The school has had a tremendous impact on my daughter and I genuinely believe she wouldn’t have made the progress she has, at any other school. She has gone from not being able to speak to anyone, to talking to all the teachers and even doing a speech in assembly in her bid to become sports captain! This is phenomenal progress! She is happy and loves everything about school; a complete contrast to her feelings prior to joining.”
