Media Studies
He who controls the media, controls the minds of the public
Noam Chomsky
Media Studies examines the role and impact of media in contemporary society. It typically covers a range of media forms, including television, film, print media, digital media, and advertising.
In Media Studies, pupils develop their critical thinking and analytical skills through the study of media texts, theories, and debates. They learn how to analyse media language, representation, audience, and institutions, and how to apply these concepts to the analysis of media products.
Pupils also engage in practical media production activities, such as designing and producing a magazine cover or creating a short film. These activities allow students to develop their media literacy skills, as well as their creativity and technical abilities.
